Mark A. DiPillo, M.D., Glaucoma and Cataract Specialist, graduated the Syracuse University in 1978, and received his M.D. degree at S.U.N.Y. Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, N.Y. in 1983. Dr. DiPillo served his Internal Medicine Residency at Denver, Colorado from 1983 to 1985.
He then served his Ophthalmology Residency at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. from 1985 to 1988, and was elected Chief Resident his senior year.
Dr. DiPillo completed his Glaucoma and Anterior Segment Fellowship at the S.U.N.Y. Health Science Center, Brooklyn, New York in June 1989.
Dr. DiPillo is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Albany Medical College, New York. He has served as Clinical Instructor in Ophthalmology at the University of Pittsburgh Eye and Ear Hospital.
Prior to joining Eye Consultants of PA in June 1994, Dr. DiPillo was in Academic practice at Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, N.Y. as Director of the Glaucoma Service, and Director of Resident Education in Small Incision Cataract Surgery.
In addition to Dr. DiPillo's extensive Glaucoma experience, he is a highly accomplished Cataract Surgeon with broad experience in Advanced Small Incision Phacoemulsification procedures. Dr. DiPillo has extensive experience in Small Pupil Cataract Surgery, and Combined Cataract Extraction with Trabeculectomy. Dr. DiPillo served as instructor in the Advanced Phacoemulsification Course at the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and also served as Director of the New York City Residents Phacoemulsification Course.
Dr. DiPillo is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
